Oklahoma POA Site
We were excited and it turned out very pleased to Receive our December
2002 issue of POA. We must say thank you to everyone who loves our
horses as much as we do. It is a wonderful reward to know that we have
apparently done a good job and all the hard work has not been for naught.
We appreciate all of the friendships we have made, and all of the helpful
instructions from so many who have contributed to our POA learning process.
Please find below excerpts from the POA article titled
"Changing of the Guard" by Kent Rorick in the December 2002
issue, which we would like to share with our visitors:
"The past three years the Bagwells & JKA Supreme
Scooter have been knocking on the SSF Championship door. This year they
kicked it open. At the 1999, 2000 & 2001 SSF the Bagwells had six
JKA Supreme Scooter foals place in the top ten. This year alone the
Bagwells had four Scooter foals place in the top five, including the Champion
Filly RBR Bunbeatable. RBR Beacoup Buns, placed fourth in the filly
class. In the colt class RBR Bun Believeable was third. RBR
Tsunami Buns placed fifth in the colt class. JKA Supreme Scooter also
sired the sixth place colt, Skip Along Scooter owned by Renee Watson. At
age eight, JKA Supreme Scooter joins the list of SSF Champion Sires.
It is interesting to note that the 20 foals that placed in the
2002 SSF were bred by only nine people. Only ten different sires were
represented in the 20 foals that placed. This is largely due to three
young stallions that had multiple foals place. Eight year old JKA
Supreme Scooter had five foals place. Six year old His Fancy Carbine had
four foals place. Four year old Boston MacCloud had three foals finish
in the top ten. These three young sires represent a changing of the
guard in the Select Sire Futurity."
After the show season we are enjoying a long deserved rest as
winter sets in and the Holidays come tumbling in upon us. Now we just try
to keep everyone happy, fed and warm waiting excitedly for the first foal to
appear as Spring creeps ever so slowly into view. Oh, what anticipation!
Winter is over and new babies are arriving. Our first baby
arrived April 12. Since then we have had 5 more. Babies and Moms are
doing fine. We love to just sit and watch them romp, buck and
play.
